Salt Bars for the face
I've been reading about how some people love using salt bars on their face. Has anyone here tried this? I am thinking about doing an unscented or slight EO one for the face. Any thoughts?

Yes, I use mine on my face, especially in summer Susan. If you have an oily skin they are wonderful. Mine just has fo in it and I am okay with that. You could research which eos are good for oily skin and use one or a blend? Citrus is good (but doesn't stick very well usually), lavender is good for all skin types. I have blended lavender, lemon, patchouli, rose geramium and cedarwood to suit an oily mature skin (mine) and I like that

I can't use them on my face, my skin is to dry . I have read that they have helped people with rosacea.

In a wash off product Riaan it is probably not a big issue?

TC, you are probably right... some oils I love come with a warning...!!
I love bergamot... and that is one biggie!! but as you say maybe it is OK in a wash off product... hehe... I suppose worth finding out about... I know there is bergamot with a fraction removed to make it more skin safe but here in TW I'm pretty sure I'd be getting the normal one...

My face is so oily that I use them at only 7% superfat. The only thing that makes my face feel clean for most of the day. The rest of me is dry, dry, dry.

Wow Billie!
I am finding that my face does not respond well to it, it does dry my skin up quite a bit. The more interesting thing I noted was that I can't stand the smell of a soap with such a high CO content. It smells "fatty" to me! I thought it might just have been the scent but I cracked out all the salt bars I have made and they all have that underlying smell to me....gross! Maybe it is the salt+CO cuz other soaps that contain CO does not smell "fatty" at all.

I use the saltbars on my face too it cleans out my pores so good leaving my face smooth but not dried out. I put Charcoal, Dead Sea Mud, Rhassoul Clay, Tomato Paste, Aloe Vera Juice in mine it has lots of goodies in there. I also scented it with Lavender and a touch of Tea Tree.
